Nick (Shao-Hua) Wu

Nick Wu is a seasoned technologist with a strong background in developing integrated hardware and software systems, specializing in photonics and semiconductors. Alongside his tech expertise, he actively pursues opportunities as an angel investor, seeking out promising pre-seed startups to support. Additionally, Nick serves as a valuable strategic advisor to numerous startup ventures. Nick’s professional journey also includes serving as the CTO of a volumetric display startup, being an investment committee at STEEP Accelerator, and holding a position at a BCI startup.

Furthermore, he dedicates his time to professional communities. Nick has held positions such as a Board of Director at the Southern California Monte Jade Science & Technology Association, Vice President of the Chiao Tung University Alumni Association – Southern California, Board of Director at the Taiwanese American Junior Chamber of Commerce – Los Angeles, Technology Chair of Taiwanese American Professionals – Los Angeles, and Board Member of the Santa Monica Chamber of Commerce.

Nick boasts a remarkable academic background, holding a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrophysics from National Chiao Tung University, as well as Ming Hsieh Honorary Master’s and PhD degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of Southern California.
